vectr agri-tech : Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Job Summary:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) as a partner to the CEO shall be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization. While reporting to the CEO, collaborate with the CEO and other executives to develop and execute the organization’s long-term vision and strategy with support from the Board/Shareholders. The COO shall work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to implement plans to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives. The COO is expected understand business vision from CEO and Board/Shareholders and build OKRs that align with vision and objectives.

The COO is expected to make the workflow more organized, structured and automated. to drive execution by removing roadblocks.


  • Corporate planning jointly with CEO & Holding Company CEO

    • Ensure a comprehensive set of operating procedures are documented & implemented
    • Develop annual Operating plan in coherence with the annual budget/business plan
    • Design framework for measuring progress against annual operating plan and any long-term objectives
    • Develop a robust risk management system and relevant reports
    • Establish an independent quality assurance/audit process under the oversight of the board
    • Ensure the business operates in compliance with relevant regulations and licenses
  • Operations

    • Own the supply chain and logistics for machines and parts. Work with external logistics provider for receiving and storing goods and delivery to customers
    • Facilities management: HQ + all locations. Ensure a common standard of appearance (look & feel) is applied and work processes implemented to ensure locations are delivering on their objectives
    • Establishing a customer service function including targets, development of processes, systems etc. working with relevant department head
    • Working with the head of marketing function:
      1. Supervise development of a comprehensive marketing strategy for the company
      2. Develop customer-oriented segmentation of the market
    • Working with head of Sales oversee development of sales tactics and techniques that also take into account customer segmentation
  • Implementation of Digitalisation

    The COO is expected to be the project manager/owner for various digitalisation initiatives. The department head is the “owner” of system requirements

    • Back office management
    • Inventory management system
    • CRM (jointly with Sales head)
    • ERP (jointly with CFO)
    • HR admin, payroll systems and performance management (jointly with HR head)
    • AfterSales jobcard automation implementation -> modernization

    Comment: proper processes in place, running and measured (plan & effect)

    Maybe required to represent the CEO in management and board meetings in the absence of CEO


At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. Degrees in other fields are acceptable as long as combined with experience relevant for the position.

15+ years of experience with around 10 years in a leadership role

Extensive experience of leading execution of digitalisation initiatives such as ERP, CRM, etc. is a must

Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance

Excellent communication and interpersonal & team building skills

Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Business process mapping and improvement proven experience
